true story

It may come as a surprise considering the last post, but Mr. William's greatest aspiration is to wear his big brother's underpants.

Built to Last

When I was five years old, I really wanted a bike. My dad woke me up in the morning during the spring and summer and we walked next door to the nursery that my grandpa and uncle owned and we watered the trees. My Uncle Andrew paid me a penny a pot. After what seemed like FOREVER, I had $35.00 (ish). We went to The Bike Rack in Kaysville to buy a bike. The bikes were around $90.00, one was red, one was blue. I chose blue. My dad bought the bike and I used my money to buy him a pair of brown shoes for school.

Last week, my dad loaded my bike in his trunk (training wheels included) and brought it to our house.

Now it's Carter's bike and he loves it.

The inner tubes are 24 years old and need to be replaced, but it's a gem and Will is enjoying his "new" bike now that Carter has moved on to bigger and better (and older) things.

Totally Wicked

For Christmas, my mom gave everyone tickets to see Wicked. It was fantabulously excitable and we had a great time. Thanks Mom!

Elphaba and Glinda with a "guh."

RoseAnna got in trouble for taking this picture.

Thanks Katrina and Jon (congrats on your engagement) for watching our kidlettes.

Where Thy Victory, O Grave?

Happy Easter

Easter Eggs

Every year at Easter we dye eggs with food coloring, water, and vinegar. This year I bought a tie-dye egg coloring kit. It made really cool eggs and... REALLY MESSY HANDS--again and again, every time they get wet and every time you peel them.
We were really glad the weather was warm so the Easter Bunny could hide the eggs outside.

Just a note...

Dear Spring,

I wish to thank you for your timely arrival. My children spent all day outside racing up and down the path behind our house, rolling down the hill, playing Peter Pan and Captain Hook with sticks, wrestling the giant dinosaur at the park, and dodging the soon-to-be-erupting volcano. I am grateful for the rejuvenation you bring and thanks to you, my children were too tired to put up a fight at bedtime. Now I can go read my book in peace.
Please stay, Spring--we love you so.
Yours ever,
Rebecca Klasiena Barker Dall

I hate to brag, but....

wouldn't you if you made something this awesome?

Above is my horizontal line arrangement and below is my vertical.

My very talented friend, Marlo, invited me to attend a focus group/class at her new design studio, Kado. I know a lot of people really love flower arranging, but I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was so rewarding.

If you're in the SLC area, check out their website http://www.kadodesign.com/ and sign up for a class!
p.s. my camera is having serious problems that I can't talk about without swearing so these pictures are not that great, the arrangements look much better in real life.

Introducing...

This is Carter and Will

This is Captain "Romoni" and his little brother, Brandon.

***

Carter spent the entire afternoon REQUIRING that he be called Captain "Romoni" (Moroni). When Will woke up from his nap, he joined the fun, but needed a name. Captain Romoni decided to name his little brother Brandon. He called me Captain Romoni's mom until he decided my name should be RoseAnna and Jeremy's name should be Clay.

Then he decided that it would be so fun if we went to Vernal to show the Battys who he was. He then had the following imaginary conversation with the "real" RoseAnna.
Carter: Hi, I'm Captain Romoni, this is Brandon, and my mom, RoseAnna.
Real (but imaginary) RoseAnna: Oh wow, my name is RoseAnna, too.
Carter (I mean Captain Romoni): Oh.
**Unfortunately, Will does not respond to the name Brandon and it was a very confusing afternoon.**
