...came and went. With all of its wonderful sights, smells, sounds, stories, and celebrations, it came. I'm always sad when it's gone. I rarely tire of Christmas carols, advent calendars, cheery Christmas cards with cheesy newsletters, but it wouldn't be special if it stayed forever (and if it lasted any longer our tree would probably ignite). So, since most of the fun is planning for and anticipating the arrival of Christmas, I've started preparations for next year, which so far include this book.
I totally disappeared from the blogging world for a couple of months. So, if anyone cares, here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Carter enjoying his gift to Will.
Our house has smelled like cap gun smoke constantly since Christmas Eve. Beat that Scentsy!

Cookies for Santa Claus (or should we say Klaus?) with a frantically written note from Carter. We didn't get home as early as we had planned on Christmas Eve and Carter was super worried about taking a long time to write his note nicely.

Proof: Umbrellas. Yes, umbrellas were on the list.

Astronaut costumes were not on the list so Mom and Dad got them because
Transformer costumes were not on the list either, but Santa brought them because they are also cool--and make already crazy boys even crazier (worth it though since they are sooooooo cool).
Lizzy spent her Christmas morning playing with (and eating) paper and snuggling with her new, silky tricot blanket from Grandma.
Will usually never makes it very long before he dives into the fruit from his stocking. Santa always leaves an apple, orange, banana, gum, and a few other treats:)
Carter and Will got some super fun building toys from Grandma and Grandpa. Lincoln Logs and Trios have been some of their most played with toys. They've made jack hammers, tools, guns, swords, pogo sticks, weights, rockets, airplanes, car steering wheels, and a million and a half other creations with their Trios. I'm hoping this will lead them down the path of inventing something really cool and making a gazillion dollars and buying their parents a lovely chalet in Switzerland. A mother can only hope.
Lizzy with her "watch" (as Carter calls it). Poor girl, we have a ton of baby toys so some got recycled and wrapped up for Christmas:)
Carter asked for a velociraptor costume from Santa Claus. I think he did a pretty good job, don't you? The boys have added some DIY features to most of their costumes.
Grandma gave Lizzy her first doll. Meet my granddaughter, Madisen Something, born in the cabbage patch two days before Lizzy:)
Watch out Jeter! There's a couple of new short stops in town. T-ball starts in May. Get your game on!
Please note my awesome photography skills--if you can't tell, the ball is not blurry and I don't know how that happened so I probably can't do it again, but it makes for a fairly cool picture. Also, please note the non-white Christmas--which I guess doesn't really matter anyway. We had what we really needed and that was enough.
