Our Labor Day weekend was everything the name suggests, labor. We started out early Saturday morning building our new shed. Just because you buy it at Home Depot and it comes in a box with instructions does not mean that it's easy. Especially since if the two people assembling it have an average height of just under 5'5" and happen to be an accountant and a wannabe French professor.

Not quite three hours into the project--the box said it should take approximately three hours total. Boxes are liars.

On Saturday evening and Monday morning and afternoon, Carter and Jeremy got to help Burdette and Grandpa JJ work on the deck they're building.

**Monday night, we worked in the yard for a couple of hours, picked a bunch of tomatoes and after the boys were in bed, Mommy and Daddy made and canned 8 1/2 quarts of tomato soup (email me if you want the recipe, it's absolutely FANTASTIC!)
We hope everyone had a great weekend and we want to send a shout out to our buddies, Peter and Adam, and congratulate them and their parents on the arrival of their new sister!

so, my cousin paul found your camera at the cabin! unfortunately, he found it in a big puddle on top of the pile of chairs. but LUCKILY, he took it home and checked your memory card and IT STILL WORKS! you know how he knows? 'cause he saw pictures of me, his favorite cousin, and your favorite aunt. i know it's a little bit bummy about the camera, but i also know you were most worried about the pictures, so i am happy to bear you this news. i now have it in my possession and will get your address and send it to you!!! yay!!!
p.s. thank you for the delightful card your family sent me. it made me happy and also has made my children VERY happy and also has made my husband very jealous. yay.

Becca, I love reading your blog. My favorite part about this post was you writing that boxes lie. I am still chuckling about that. We received your darling booties in the mail yesterday....hip hip hooray! Mary wore them yesterday and today to church. She will mostly likely be wearing them tomorrow as well. Thank you, thank you!! I received several comments about the beauty of your booties. Many thought I was the genius behind them, but sadly no. So, if we do move back out to Utah I would love to learn how to knit.
